Boom of adult learning in the Baltic countries |

MARIJAMPOLÉ, Lithuania. Fresh LINBA survey results indicate, that the gap between the Finnish and the Baltic participation in adult education and learning has narrowed significantly. In fact, the Estonians have the best rates of adult learning, the Latvians are the second and the Finns, known as eager learners, follow with the Lithuanians.

There are quite a number of quantitative researches in the area of adult education carried out in the four countries. However, there has been no comparative qualitative research undertaken in this area. Therefore, within the framework of LINBA project a partnership of institutions active in adult education and research in four Nordic-Baltic countries – Finland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia – will be created.
